There was a patch for the original VNC to get it to work. but it doesn't appear to be workable with TightVNC (also couldn't find it last time i looked)

What's UltraVNC all about? I usually use Real (sometimes tight), it works, but it's nothing special.

In college, I used to use a prog called Remote Admin...it was the best remote prog I ever used.

The more I use UltraVNC the more I like it. Its got alot of bells and whilstles. The best part about it is the fact that they all seem to work very well!

Maggi, you bring up a very good point. If I do go dualhead someday (I do hope to). I would love to be able to use both heads via VNC. Maybe in the future there will be an update to VNC to allow it to use higher resolutions.

Keep the votes coming, I'm learning alot about VNC / MS Remote Desktop Connection that I didn't know before.

Citrix allows any old desktop res (not gone as far as trying triplehead, but stretched dualhead certainly works), or even "seamless windows" (so an app, eg Outlook, runs as if it's in its own "real" window on the client desktop.

My question is which OS's do you use? Personally I just use TightVNC for just windows/windows. Same with my Windows/Linux (MDK9.1 on my server) But if you had a remote windows computer and wanted to view it with Linux, there are programs that work flawlessly (even a little faster in my experience) with terminal services that come with Windows OS's. rdesktop is one, and tsclient is another.

Anybody knows one that works on the serial (console) port (and that wouldn't require RRAS activated on win2k)???
