I get shimmering but wait I get it on a G550 G400 R8500 R9700 R9800. Different motherboards, different power supplies, different monitors. The amount varies on a daily basis. Can fix by going to a different res.
You know it could be interferance. I've just read some of the posts about it.

I like this comment from one user.
sirenic, i really appreciate ur time for this problem
what do u mean a different AC plug? IE change the plug that powers my comp on another socket?
i dun get this: "1) Make sure that the AC supply to the computer is identical to the monitor AC supply (same connector)."

ATI has had weird rolling-line kind of problems on aperture grill monitors for ages too..
I sometimes notice it on my card, but it's not that bad.
Some people say it's cause by a combination of poor power filtering on the radeon cards and a psu which puts a bit of nois on the output lines.

[edit] Removed a really idiotic comment about the Parhelia banding problem being DVI only... DOH. [/edit]Last edited by Jon P. Inghram; 7 August 2003, 12:46.

No, it's not a DVI only issue.
It's an analog only issue.
You don't get banding if using DVI.Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s
