  • Parhelia not the only one suffering banding?

Looks like nVidia are being rather more "honest" about admitting there's a problem though...

I get shimmering but wait I get it on a G550 G400 R8500 R9700 R9800. Different motherboards, different power supplies, different monitors. The amount varies on a daily basis. Can fix by going to a different res.
You know it could be interferance. I've just read some of the posts about it.

I like this comment from one user.

sirenic, i really appreciate ur time for this problem
what do u mean a different AC plug? IE change the plug that powers my comp on another socket?

i dun get this: "1) Make sure that the AC supply to the computer is identical to the monitor AC supply (same connector)."

ATI has had weird rolling-line kind of problems on aperture grill monitors for ages too..

I sometimes notice it on my card, but it's not that bad.
Some people say it's cause by a combination of poor power filtering on the radeon cards and a psu which puts a bit of nois on the output lines.

I never had banding on my Parhelia. Maybe only a grounding issue that affects some but not all cards?

[edit] Removed a really idiotic comment about the Parhelia banding problem being DVI only... DOH. [/edit]

No, it's not a DVI only issue.
              It's an analog only issue.
You don't get banding if using DVI.

Likewise I get no shimmering when using my LCD.

I saw some shimmering lines when loading page in browser or refreshing folder in Windows Explorer on G200 and G400.

No problems with Parhelia. Sweetest image quality card I've seen so far.

This is a bit hard here.

The first Parhelia I saw for real (not on the web) was the one I bought, for less than P750 retails here too.
