You *SHOULD* run a software firewall.

Yes, and when I got it, I totally panicked (because I couldn't find any information on WHY my sys kept restarting), add to this my computer rebooting every 2 minutes, the heat, and that I was tired, and I was totally useless. It was only thanks to Ovi that I found out what it really was, and finally fixed it.

I feel so ashamed for not having been able to think straight and fix it myself

Just blocked the ports through Router.

            Patched my Windows XP

            Patched my brother's computer.

So far I don't seem affected.

Router blocked everything not requested (which is virtually everything in my case). Plus firewalls and antivirus checkers everywhere, and I'm at home.

NAV definitions were a week old, running Zone Alarm free and the XP firewall was active.
Patched the OS and updated the virus definition yesterday morning.
Guess Zone Alarm caught it. Latest block on port 135 was a couple of minutes ago.
