I am doing triple head--kind of.

I have my center and right monitors running 1600x1200 Visual Studio.Net, SQL Enterprise Manager, SQL Query Analyzer, Paint Shop Pro, etc.

I have a left monitor running off a PCI card (so I don't have to be at the same resolution as the other two) switching between 800x600 and 1024x768. I use the third monitor to see how my end users will experience the website/software I'm developing.

I need higher rez on my middle screen for Visual Studio .Net. It has a lot of panels that can obscure the code window. It's not that bad, but it would be nice to run at a higher rez with a stable refresh rate.

I have a dual boot which is configured for true triple head. I got way too motion sick playing RTCW so these days I mainly use it to show off the reef demo to people who visit my office.

How about moving the panels to the right monitor?

Have you checked out Soney's 24 inch widescreen? I don't know the name, maybe it's even what you're talking about all the time I believe ALBPM has one.

I've tried moving the panels but it didn't work for me. I need to use them a lot so they need to be fairly close. Plus, they tended to obscure apps running on the second screen. (Yes, yes, I realise I'm being very picky)

The wide screen sony is an idea. I wonder how it would work in dual display mode with a second screen running at 1600x1200. I might have to post a question in the Matrox forums...

Dam Looks like they stopped selling CRT in North America but they are still selling in the rest of the world

I don't think you'll run into any problems with the 16:10 aspect ratio of the Sony In any case, there's no need to ask in the Matrox forums, just ask in MHW here

Tons of little panels suck . (try LabView for a while, and you'll see what I mean).
For the setup you want, go with <A HREF="http://www.lacie.com">LaCie</A> if your budget can handle it ($612.60 each from <A HREF="http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?item=816968">PCNation</A>.)

(actually, I just checked their clearance page - they have refurbs on sale for $549 - damn.)
