A new retail 9700 Pro should be $200 or less, if you can still find them.

edit: seems they are out of stock, so nevermind that one, unless you want to wait for them to get more in...
Sorry, I meant DV, as in VIVO.

i think they meant it is just a factory overclocked 9600pro.. actually since you are looking for a VIVO card.. Giga-byte had a VIVO card based on 9600pro not sure it is still around

if possible for your prize range, a 9600pro 256mb would not be too bad.

I'm kinda confused... why not spend $300 or more on a good card? You spent thousands on a ricer engine upgrade. Just like PC's, they depreciate the same.

                    Yep....it's overclocked via the drivers.
My 9600XT is currently running at 513MHz (norm. 500MHz) and at a temp. of 53C. May seem hot, but it is passively cooled, so I am happy with that.

So, my very first post (only took a few years....)

                      1-I barely game.

2-it will be worthless in no time.

3-I don't have much money at the moment.

Ricers don't know how to upgrade engines.

Not true. I can sell my motor for close to what I paid for it. a $300 video card will be worth $100 used in a year.

If cars were like video cards they'd come out with new and improved fuels every few months that put out 20% more horsepower, 20% better mileage, and 20% fewer emissions, but only if you run them in a new upgraded engine design that is also released every few months. And in the end it would rarely make any difference because the automotive designers would become more lazy due to the extra performance and make everything terribly inefficient.

I think you mean engines not fuel we don't buy fuel directly from ford etc.
Also theres politics that play a lot in the old petrol engine.
Left to design it's l wouldn't be surprised if we were driving cars that could do 100 around town today.

As for Doom3 perhaps ATI should have slept with John C as much as Nvidea did.

NV43 is coming. i think Kooldino can afford them

It will get around 8000 3dmarks (yes i know its 3dmark, but isn't it a good first indication of how good it is?) looks pretty good to me (i think it will cost around the same as the 5600s)
