    So as long as my refresh rate is >= my fps, I should see smooth frame rates? [/B]
    yup that is how i feel as well... anyways if i get anywhere between 60 - 80 fps i would be very very happy.. but i wouldnt mind a fps of 35 to 40 if the games are very smooth with no jerking.

      The higher refresh doesn't guarantee smooth frame rates. It guarantees that there will be no tearing effect between refreshes (if vsync is enabled).

      Frame rates depend on the capacity of the PC to generate enough frames per second.
