Oh I don't know, it doesn't look at all like HiFi equipment; rather cheap/toyish actually (and besides, what if someone likes black HiFis more? ). Out of all consoles probably CDTV was the closest one to what you describe...original PS2 looks pretty nice too, IMHO, unfortunatelly doesn't share the dimensions of HiFi...

That is my biggest complaint about the PS2, the fans in it are incredibly noisy. Though this may be because my brother's playstation 2 is quite old... but I can always hear the whine of the fan in it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were developing games in 720p, which is better suited towards motion & games as opposed to 1080i, which can have superior image quality, but is more suited towards still pictures.

To sum up the important stuff regarding XBL:

There will be two versions of Xbox Live. Silver is free (everyone gets it), and Gold is a paid subscription, like the current XBL. It looks like Xbox Live will be free on the weekends for everyone; Gold members will get it all the time, obviously. Current Xbox Live accounts will carry over to the 360 and become Gold Xbox Live accounts. Both Gold and Silver members will be able to download demos, trailers, and other content through XBL.

This info seems pretty legit, and some insiders have confirmed that this is indeed a real leak. At this rate, you have to wonder if Microsoft will have anything left to reveal at the MTV unveiling on May 12.

Actually there's some disagreement about whether any of this information is valid. I won't be surprised if it all IS true, but the Penny Arcade guys, at least, are saying that perhaps some of it is spurious.

Plus some of it makes NO sense. All the specs are high end... except the hard disk? Who even MAKES 20GB hard drives any more?
