They sell software for dirt cheap. I've seen these kinds of sites before but always wondered how they do it? Is it a scam? What am I missing?

The first one (TopDownloads )is clearly not legal
All the software is available for download. By purchasing a single or several items you get an access to our members' area. That's where you get direct links to download the programs you purchased. All the software is for PC in English Language. All the software has been tested before the sale. You get all the information you need about the installation, registration and activation of the software you purchased. Every software program has a special serial code or keygeneration that has already been tested by us during the testing. Every software program has a detailed description in English. You won't find analogue software anywhere else cheaper than here. By purchasing anything here you save tens of thousands of dollars.
But I dont think BSA likes themIf there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

I don't think selling academic software to other people is legal.
I don't know any of the sites you linked to, but there are plenty of sites that sell mass-produced illegal copies that to ordinary customers might look like the real deal. This is illegal of course.
