I must admit, the graphics look better when you play them in person, but obviously, it's still no xbox360/ps3.

I may pick up a ps3 or xbox360 in the future, and if so, I'm heavily leaning towards the xbox360. The PS3 has major issues, and I'm not super impressed with it just yet, especially for the extra $200 it costs.
Kool what games did you get with it? I'd be interested in your opinions of graphics, gameplay, use of the controller on the games you got.

Well we've settled on getting a Wii and a 360. We're going to wait on the Wii simply for more choice in games, because at this point there's nothing all that impressive (overall, not graphically). Most of the XBOX games we have will 'work' on the 360, so it's not an entirely new investment and Trina does love her Burnout series games

If we can grab one of those $100 360's that Amazon will likely have on Thursday, then we'll be set.

The XBox360 has no compelling titles for me. If I were made of money I would of course own a PS3. As it is, odds are that neither of the more expensive systems will grace our living room until they're available at a discount.

Went to a friends house on the weekend, rented Gears of War, beat it in about 5 hours. OK game, great graphics and gameplay, but there could have been so much more to the game itself. Got boring after awhile. Definitely not worth it to buy the game.

You probably beat it on casual. You really need to play it on hardcore or insane with internet co-op. It's amazing.
            P.S. You've been Spanked!

I got Zelda, which I like. The Wii controls don't really add much to it, IMO, with the exception of shooting arrows, the slingshot, and fishing. Still a good game, nonetheless.

I have Monkey Ball, which I just put on ebay. It's a highly rated game, but I'm just not into it.

I also obviously have Wii Sports, which is good, but it does feel like a tech demo. None of the sports games are deep, but it shows what can be done with the system. If a company took any one of the included sports games and really focused on it, they could easily make a great game out of it. Playing baseball, tennis, bowling, golf, and boxing is all much more fun with the wii controller. If I had to play the same game by mashing buttons, it wouldn't be nearly as fun.

Don't think that means much of anything since the PS3 is going to be in short supply for the next couple months...lets see how the numbers are next year
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

The Wii is in short supply relative to the demand for it, however Nintendo has been getting regular resupplies of it to stores. At least that's the case here in the US.

Best Buy opened at 9am. I arrived at 6:20am. Still not early enough. They got in 9 Wii's (they post it on a board outside of the store in the morning).

Oh well, I guess I will try again next Friday.
