So, I just sort of wanted a mini-itx powered NAS box or fileserver, instead of just having lots of disks in different machines, and placed on bookshelves...
I ordered this today:
Chenbro ES34069 case (4 bays and a space for the mini-itx+2.5in HDD+Slim DVD
AMD x3 8750 95W to be underclocked and undervolted to get around 2Ghz.
Jetway NC81-LF AMD 780G + SB700
- ati 3200 graphics
- full 1080p support
- HDMI/DVI/VGA and HDCP onboard
- Onboard 128Mb Framebuffer
- 2xGigE (PCI and PCIe)
-All solid capacitor design
Slim DVDRW
4xWD Green 1Tb 5400rpm 32Mb cache
edit : + a 2.5in 60Gb drive for the OS.
The only thing worrying me is the x3's power output.
I don't think it would even get warm doing its normal duties, but i will have to test it just in case at full load for stability...finding a 1U cooler isn't easy...will wait and see if the 1U one I have coming is good enough...
Should be powerful enough for a while, and I can always add bigger drives later.
