If it would boot at the 140FSB it would be 7x140 or 980Mhz... That would be smokin...

The memory is PC133 HSDRAM rated at up to 150 (4.6ns) according to the specs. I've been running @133 for over a year now.

    I can put the old PIII-450 in @ 133 and it's fine running @ 600 Mhz...

The PIII-700 is marginal, and I don't think it's the processor. I think it's the motherboard layout and timing (I'm gonna keep saying that - things just start happening a little too quickly with the processor sending/retrieving data that much faster)...

    Guyver - 868 isn't so bad...

No it isn't. Sounds pretty good to me.

Now let's see. If the MAX will survive at 150FSB, then I could get 820 , damn not enough. Guess I'll have to wait for a Willamet, to top you

Found 2 new motherboards to look at...

        #1 Gigabyte GA-6CXC

        #2 ASUS P3C2000

Both offer i820 chipset with PC133, AGP4X, 6PCI and ... drumroll please ... SDRAM sockets... 4 to be exact.

Found a ASUS P3C2000 without the Embedded Audio from pc-omni for about $165 incl. shipping.

I'm hoping this will fix the timing issues and will allow higher than 124 FSB...

And with the proper divisors for AGP and PCI ... 140 or 150 shouldn't be too far out of spec...

Guyver - Maybe 868 is too low...

Avoid every motherboard i820 based. Rambust is a huge flop and Intel and everybody else knows about it. Wait for the Intel Solano (i815?) chipset to come out with proper support for SDRAM.

Every i820 mobo out there is flakier than a croissant. You are just begging for headaches and troubles if you get one. Expect frequent BSODs.

i820s with the SDRAM kludge are slower than BX at same FSB. Also they are PC100 supporting and will run the memory at 100MHZ with a 133MHZ FSB.

              Watch out!!!

As Mark has said - avoid i820/SDRAM combo boards if you want smokin' performance. I've tested a P3C2000 and its performance is significantly below that of both the Asus P3B-F (BX) and P3V4X (Via 133A).

                Asus P3C2000:
