Wombat, just a quick question before I do the Mobo surgery.
I had a look at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum directory and was somewhat alarmed at deleting something that contains so much system info. The question is after having deleted the directory (presumably before taking out the original MB)what can I expect,
once I've sorted the bios settings, on reboot into windows, I assume windows will create a new enum directory containing the updated new hardware.
Sorry about the dumb questions, but I get a little paranoid when mucking about in the registry, also I like to know why I'm doing something. "To boldly go" rather than blindly.

Just crossing the T's and dotting the I's folks. I'm almost ready to do the "fools rush in" bit.

      Thanks again.

Now whats the name of that stress councillor.

Reomving that key forces windows to look for new devices since that is *edit* where *edit* it stores its information about hardware. That is why it has so much info in it. Believe me you want to do that (delete it)
