There is no extra wire on the Asus S370-DL
CPU card.

The only 3 settings available on the Asus
CPU card I have are voltage (1.50 to 2.60),
CPU brand (Intel or Joshua) and CPU type (Celeron or Coppermine).
The FSB is set by the motherboard (thus is for the memory as well) and the
multiplier is set by the CPU.
I had no problem with PC100 ram, as my system is based on a 100MHz platform
and the maximum bus speed is 112MHz.
To get the Socket370 Coppermine to run,
the voltage had to be increased to 1.80v
(minimum) or the computer would not boot.
