    xortam,

There is no extra wire on the Asus S370-DL
    CPU card.

    Jorden,

The only 3 settings available on the Asus
CPU card I have are voltage (1.50 to 2.60),
CPU brand (Intel or Joshua) and CPU type (Celeron or Coppermine).
The FSB is set by the motherboard (thus is for the memory as well) and the
multiplier is set by the CPU.
I had no problem with PC100 ram, as my system is based on a 100MHz platform
and the maximum bus speed is 112MHz.
To get the Socket370 Coppermine to run,
the voltage had to be increased to 1.80v
(minimum) or the computer would not boot.
    ...Right Maggi?

Yeah, I figured that out when I looked at the photos in the .pdf I posted.

I got my P!!!/850 Cu FC-PGA running nominally at default, 1.70v.

        CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Folks, I checked my Asus P2B-D and it's rev 1.05 DOH!!

I guess I now have a few options..

1-Ask Asus if they can replace my rev 1.05 with a newer version as I really like this mobo.

2-Use the Asus strictly as a single proc board with a PIII 800+ on a flip chip.

3-Buy a whole new dual processor board, like the Tyan or something, the only problem is most dual boards have the via chipset, I guess I have to do some research.

Thanks guys for all your help.

        Cheers,
        Elie

          seems like I missed a party ...

Elie, if there's enough room in your rig to stick in two FC-PGAs with according slotkets, I bet you won't run into trouble, although it's not officially supported.

On my olden P2B-S I had to up VCore above 1.7 volts in order to make it POST, ie. below 1.75 volts all what happened was a spin up of my HDs ... nothing else.

At 1.75 volts, it POSTed and booted properly at default clock settings.
          Now I'm settled @ 1.85 volts & 112Mhz FSB, kicking my Celeron 566 up to 952MHz.

Just have a look into your case and find out how much room there is between both slots and give it a try, if it fits.

          Cheers,
          Maggi

            xortam,

I had no luck at all with anything below
1.80 volts.....maybe the difference is that
            I have a SL49G (1.65v) and you have a SL4MC
            (1.70v).
