I would say if you tried in another machine and the same things happen that you card belongs to the great card bin in the sky and you need to send it back.

Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do. Thanks for the help, though! Appreciated greatly!!

              Hi,

Have you tried simply installing the INF file for the drivers rather than installing the complete Powerdesk?

              Ciao

              Z

                Update:

I brought the card to work today, put it in a computer that had a Marvel G200 in it (just like at home), restarted, it detected it, restarted again and IT WORKED! Now I'm REAAAAAAAALLLY confused!! Is there some sort of hardware confliction with an Abit BH6 motherboard? I'm going to try and update my Abit BIOS when I get home, which will HOPEFULLY solve the problem.

And I think I'll call Matrox Tech support.

So we're no longer good enough, eh?

BTW: Half of matrox tech support are already here, and also they'll probably tell you to come here....

                  Cheers,

                    *lol*
Tech support here is the greatest!

I'm enjoying the G400 at work. Been playing some bump-mapped Expendable, and it looks faaantastic. It's sweet running Midtown Madness at 1280x1024, too! I GOTTA GET IT WORKING AT HOME!! ARGH!

I'm hoping the BIOS upgrade will work for my Abit BH6... if not, I'll go squirrelly. And I'll cry. :~(

Hi SockBoy. People are having somewhat mixed feelings about the G400/BH6 business. Haig is looking into it, just check http://forums.gagames.com/forums/For...ML/002734.html .

I will have a G400 in my BH6 in the very near future, so I will see.

Awwww, now I'm regretting saving the few bucks buying a BH6 instead of a BX6 R2. *sigh*

                            Hi there

Any known issues with the original BX6? I have one and I am waiting for the G400 for so long... I am not sure if I could take it if the card won´t work

It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who has a G400 in a BH6 to see if you're alone with these problems. It sounds most unusual to me. Whilst an IRQ error is a possible cause, I have never actually heard of it causing a driver installation to fail like this. Normally it screws up any attempts to use DMA and might crash a game if two devices are called simultaniously...

I shall watch this thread with interest.

Uh, that's scary. I have the BE6 and a V770. I've been trying to find a G400 32 MB DH, or better yet, a G400 Max, in stock, to replace the V770. No luck so far.

But ... this problem sounds a little ominous. Does it appear to be limited to the BH6, or does it show up in BE6 motherboards as well?
