Hi there Haig. The times I checked, AGP2X was always automatically detected. I never even forced it, I have to force AGP1X instead. I did have to force AGP2X with my G200 though, but that combination used to work just fine.
It looks like the auto detection/selection code is doing exactly the opposite of what it should be doing.
I have been running games in 1024x768x16, but the system still crashed at some point, not much of a difference, really.
16bpp vs. 32bpp only seems to make a change for my desktop resolution. As reported, in 32bpp the system will crash instantly when drawing the desktop, but when I select a 16bpp desktop the odds in favor for a later crash. Most of the time it will crash/lock up in a game, occasionally the system will crash/lock at startup.
1 - I tried taking sticks out and swapping, didn't get my hands on another DIMM yet (I was only able to get the same LGS7J). I'm now thinking of randomly attacking pedestrians, so consider it pending
2 - Okay, I'm going to try an EIDE setup later today.
3 - I use Shift-Click on the Reply button (open in new window). I'll check on Q2/Q3.
I'll be back. Thanks Haig.
