How about it ANT? We want a button that if X# of posts/requests are met (not by same person either) the thread will be closed without waiting for intervention by Your Eminence..

I'm sure this could be implemented easily ....just a suggestion sire......

A Geforce supporter? Are you referring to me?
I'am definitely not a Geforce supporter! I simply have an open mind and am willing to give any new product a fair chance to prove itself based on it's merits!...

Already from specs I would say the S2000 is going to beat the GeForce. Higher fil-rate, and it has EMBM. Plus there will not be any games that take advantage of the super higher poly counts for at least another 4 months. So in about 3-4 months thats when the 100k poly games will show up but untill then, the current stuff is just as good as the next generation(based on what I saw from the GeForce, but maybe the S2000 will actually have features and image quality on par or close to the G400. The GeForce has image quality same as TnT2, but it looks a touch grainier).

Am I missing something, or aren't there already games that can use the high poly count? Some game engines watch the CPU throttle, and automatically adjust the poly count according to how much it is pushing your processor. One example of this is Messiah.

Wow, "Flemgeek" and "Filmgreek". I'll have to remember those. I mean, everytime I think you guys have run out of things to say, you come back with another of those classic "G-Spot Force" or "Turd Buffer" lines. I can't keep up with you. You guys are too damn funny. Anand can only hope to be the kind of minds Kruzin and Rags are when he gets to be their age. You're the kind of people I want raising the next generation. A kid like Anand can learn alot by listening to you, Kruzin. I am serious about that.

Filmgeek, or should I say "Flemgeek"

Oh look, I made a funny, just like Kruzin!

I didn't even bother reading the last half of this thread, I've heard all these comments before... look ffs, it's just a video card! Can you people not take a step back and appreciate things for what they are? Take the GeForce256, ignoring the fact that it's drivers are still in development, so... it's slower than people expected, the fact is, it is the first commercial implementation of T&L hardware accelleration for the mass market, geez, ya never know, someone else might latch onto this idea and do something similar, no saying they'll have any success, but if nobody tries it, who's gonna learn?

The fact that you people get so upset when a card doesn't meet up to your expectations flies right in the face of all you've been saying about hype! If you have all these high expectations, they can only have come from one place, the hype that the hardware sites feed into the news streams.

IF you had half an ounce of intelligence, you'd stop typing for a second and perhaps you'd stop being so patriotic to a video card.

                Just a suggestion.
Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!

What every happened to discussion about Matrox hardware? Or failing that, discussion about video card hardware in general? Right now it's 80% ego wrestling, and general ignorance.

                    Filmgeek:
Why are you flaming me? Nowhere in my post was anything personal against you. All I was saying is that we will not know what the NV10 will perform like until it ships and has some refined drivers.

                    What is your problem?

Rags, I think he is referring to where you called him "Filmgreek".

Filmgeek, I'm sure that was just a typo on Rags' part.

Now, Ant, please close this thread.

                        Rags,

KvHagedorn is correct. The reason why I included you in the flame is because I assumed you were joining in on Kruzin's name calling. For reasons I'd rather not go into, "Filmgreek" struck me as an intentional slur. But I'll assume it was just I typo in which case I am sorry. I still disagree with you, but that's ok. This is exactly the reason I hate flaming threads. Arguments I can deal with, but childish namecalling is just stupid, and sometimes the wrong people get flamed.

What the hell. It's monday morning and I'm feeling it.

My own opinion about all this nonsense that is going on is people are just feeling surly after a too short weekend or something. Ya'll just arent looking at things in the proper perspective. Remember when the G400 was anounced with Bump Mapping? How long has it been? how many games have used it? OK. So why is everyone being so derogatory towards T&L? This is a feature that also will not be used imediatly, but the fact that it will be available on a consumer card is astonishing to me, same as bump mapping was. Even if neither gets used. Just because the card is from a diff company it's getting assumed by a lot of poeple to suck. I still have my TNT1 and it runs games a hell of a lot better in NT than my G400 does. So I wouldnt be so quick to call N-vidia that bad. The fact that they are continuing the very cool habit of inplementing high end hardware specs in low end cards is very good. Same as Matrox with Dual Head and EMBM. If the card is even partly as interesting as it look's, I'll probably buy one of them too.

Finally, insulting Anand for his age is about as low as I think you could go. Yes he's a kid. He has never hidden the fact from anybody. He's also a kid with a decent business going on, a web page that is somewhat respected, and in the end, a place for a DIFFERENT point of view. is that all bad? no. Calling him names cause he went to an even with his mom? Dude, dont you get along with your own mother? Sure I dont agree with a lot of his reviews, but I dont agree with some of Ant's postings, or with posts from sharky or any other sites. And yet I bet you wont go make fun of Jeremy from AG3D, cause he just happened to get a brain tumour.

So people, grow the **** up already.
A computer is like sex. Your never 100% sure what your doing but when all goes well, it feels REAL good.
