Hey, what's this? Talking about an Atari 800XL and 130XE without me??! I have both of those (130XE still works too!). Classy machines, but have no support

    Cheers,
    Steve

      aiee! Neither, Jorden.

Haigh thought that shken said that when shken called Matrox, that John at Matrox told shken that the drivers would be released at 5:30.

If you look at his post, shken was told that "5.30 would be released today", not that they would be "released at 5:30", and I think Haig misread this, and corrected shken in saying that nobody at Matrox would say that they'd be released at 5:30.

It's all a confusion between 5.30 and 5:30, since the version is 5.30. Or 5,30 for some of us. Get it? There is no 5:30 release time!!!

As I said, a new rumor is born!

And, Steve, I have four Atari 800's, and a *600XL*, haven't seen much of them

Eh, the 64 had crappy graphics. :-)

Anywho, for those who can't stand low framerates, here are some links to some toys:
http://www.cris.com/~Twist/atari800win/ <-- The emulator proper (works great, even on my Dell Latitude Cpi-A PII-300 laptop at work).

http://shell.ihug.co.nz/~aaronat/atari.html <-- just about every game imaginable for the Atari.

I'm playing Zork right now. Ah, the white house...

          Hey SteveC,

I still have a huge binder with the technical specs for the Atari XL computers, (I had the 600XL), stuff like assembly listings for the rom, register descriptions etc. Want to buy it?

C64 had crappy GRFX??? BLASPHEMY!!!! How dare thee soil the C64 name with such blatant lies?

Or in other words, the C64 rocks your sox boy.

BTW, I knew the drivers wouldnt be out.

Had to be today when they could take the longest And ya know what? Who cares.

Imagine if you will, a village called MURCy LANd. In this village there lived a large group of generally violent and savage cretures called the MURCy's. Their wise guidance type creatures where commonly called the BB'z. (Read old posts about the betaboyz). Now one day the MURCy's realized that as they awaited their new drivers (work with me, use your imagination) they where all chaffing and starting to get restless at the lack of information coming out of their great Stone god, MATROXIUM. Then, they all suddenly remembered the BB'z where always priviledged to certain information from the great MATROXIUM. And so with this in mind they started to antagonize the BB'z demanding to know what they knew about the new drivers.

Do I write cool story's or what?
A computer is like sex. Your never 100% sure what your doing but when all goes well, it feels REAL good.

                          Cool story.

I still say the C64's white-on-purple boot-up screen was blocky looking. It just didn't have the smootheness of atari's text, or player-missle graphics.

"Have you played Atari today?" :-)

IceStorm, the C64 had light blue with a dark blue band around it, start-up-screen... you sure you don't mean the ZX-81???

You're probably right. All I remember about the C64 (besides the fact that the 1541 was slower than my tape deck), was that it was butt-ugly compared to the display of my Atari 800.

I downloaded the C64 emulator for a friend a few days ago. It was still uglier than the Atari one I'm using now. :-)
