AGP 1X -- cannot get 2X for the life of me...
I have read that the G400 should have its own IRQ, and that it should be an IRQ higher than 9. Mine is on IRQ 5, not shared w/ anything, so is this why I can't get 2X out of my system? The new drivers (5.30) are stable in Win98 with the 2X reg. hack, but my games lockup after about a minute...Any ideas?
Does forcing the G400 IRQ to 9 or higher *really* make a difference?

P-Ditty,
Mines on IRQ 7 with no problems in a AX6BC (rev 1.3). After a driver upgrade my G200 wouldn't do 2X. It did with reg hack but was not useable. This may sound silly but I got it back to stable 2X without reg hack, by going into device manager, removeing the card, rebooting, and letting Win )re)find the card. Worked fine there after, again! Can't hurt to try it. You may also want to try the reseating of the card, and boot up without screwing the card down, it's worked for some.
Good Luck,

My FSB is at 100mhz w/ a 2/3AGP divider, so 66mhz for the AGP bus. I've tried clocking my Celery back down to 300mhz (and 66mhz AGP bus) to no avail...
I went into device manager, removed the card, rebooted, and after Win98 was going, my G400 was running at 2X and I'm now able to play 1/2Life without lockups. I wonder if it'll last...
Thanks a million for the tip! This forum is better than tech support!

at the beginning I had to force AGP x1 but then I descovered the problem. My Altec Lansing ADA-305 (USB speakers) software conflicted with my G400, removing the speakers software enabled me to run at x2.
