Guess I'm lucky, I've never had a problem with any piece of hardware I've bought. But at the same time I generally check things out first. Aside from this card, I can say I don't have problems that most other do with anything. I can normally pop something in and keep on going. That's why this hit like a ton of bricks. I expected to be up and going in 5 minutes when I got the card. 2 weeks later i'm finally clearing the issue up. I knew the card was worth it if I'd just keep on searching for an answer. YeeHaw!

      GinoCyber:

Online is great. I'm assuming your speaking in reference to the Sound and Winmodem both being on the same IRQ. Unlike most, I love Winmodems (good ones that is). Ping normally hangs around 180-200 on a good server and I generally connect at 50,666. I even have audio in UT turned up to 32 voices\44k. If this doesn't answer your question let me know.

Out of curiosity, what's your latency value set at in your cmos?

        Ciao

I take it you're talking about SDRAM RAS and CAS.

Can't adjust it on an Intel board. It is set by the EPROM on the stick. If it's truly setting by that then it's 2. Also had it set on 2 on the Tyan S1832DL I just switched from.

if Jorden had in fact been "talking dirty" to me while I posted (?? !!!), believe you me, "how"... mmmmmmmm, wouldn't be an issue, shall we say. Not by a rather long shot.

Paul my fellow, You have a lot to learn. A job like that couldn't have been done without K.Y.

You see, 3-in-1 is petroleum based and hence would have adversely affected the plastics in the slot connectors. BUT, with the K.Y. being a water based solution it facilitated the easiest entry into an otherwise tight spot. Wait a minute, my mind wandered to a different NG for a sec, Sorry guys...and Gals.

The "9" thing is the ACPI doing it's thing. ACPI in Win2k has a habit of doing it worse than that.
