OK, I'm currently using the GART.vxd patch version 3.56 which, as you say was installed AFTER DX7 and the card's driver.

One thing though - VIA state for 3.59 "This driver should be installed on a system with the AGP 4X/133 chipset, VT82C597 or later, and others' chipsets will not be supported."

Is this safe for me to install or should I stick with 3.56?

    Thanks
    Rob

Yes, I have AGP GART 3.59 with my system, and everything works perfectly.

The VT82C597/598 is the North bridge of MVP3 chipsets. The new GART driver is supporting VIA 597/598 (VP3/MVP3), the VIA 693 Slot 1/Socket 370 and the latest 69X with AGP 4X.

Well bugger me it's working now on 5.30.

I removed some old registry entries for my previos Riva card. I also upgraded the GART.vxs patch to 3.59 and Quake and all my other games now run fine. The TurboGL certainly makes a difference to Quake.

Got there in the end! Thanks guys.
