Great, Haig! Keeping the server open is definitely an awesome idea. Boy, I sure wish I'd thought to check the server last night, that looked like a terrific match.

Replacing Q2 with Q3 is an especially awesome idea, considering that UT and Q3 are probably going to be the most common FPS games that are played on Matrox hardware right now (if they already aren't- sorry, HalfLife, not shorting you). This is a good place for people with Matrox hardware to play, and help each other with problems at the same time.

Ans, since I have both games, I can do either. Cool! Even though I can be found in UT most often (better gameplay, imho, even though Q3 is much prettier overall).

                LAMFDTK:
You nailed me a few times last night. As far as that redeemer thing goes- I stick to primary fire on crowded maps, especially with a higher ping (150+). While you fly it, you're a sitting duck for anyone nearby, not to mention the fact that if the server isn't upgraded to the 402 patch, it may explode in your face with the alt fire.

                Zwich:
You played pretty well last night.

                Haig:
Keep practicing. Sooner or later you'll get there.

LOL. I loved playing on the server. From now on, when I come on it, I'll change my alias from *FragClub*Azash to Ace[MU], just so everyone that might not otherwise know me can tell who it is.

LAMF, when you're on the Green team, and I'm on the green team, it may be nice not to shoot me all the time.....

It was cool last night, even if I was half asleep! Will be back again soon!

                        Haig,

I've had real good luck with SB LiveWare 3.0 after you update to the November (?) patch.. I remember 2.0 being the most finicky of the LiveWare for me (For it's time, even LiveWare 1.0 was pretty nice, except for the DOS driver snafu stuff)

Gina card? Who makes such a beast? Doesn't seem to ring a bell to me.

As strange as it seems, the default drivers that come with Windows 2000 (even though they only support 2 speakers) have worked really well for me ever since Beta 3 or so. I know a lot of people have done dirty hacks to get LW3 to work under Win2k but I'd rather wait for real drivers to mess with my setup.

                        Anyway... back to the frags..

Zwisch- That frag club guy was definitely me. I'd have changed my alias earlier in the match, but I like for the stats server to track all my stats under one name. That way, I can compare my efficiency ratings (weapons, overall, etc.) to see where I need work, and on which maps, from time to time.

I also have subscribed to the GT Interactive Forum under the alias of Azash. Ace just got to be too common. There were like 4 different people using that alias in UT back when I changed mine to Azash. Anyhow, I can use it (Ace) with the Matrox server, since you all know me from here (and with the [MU] tacked on, there's no doubt who it is).

My head stopped hurting from the constant pounding I was giving it by the time I left work Wednesday, and I had the free time away from clan practice, so I just had to come check out the server again. And I'm definitely glad I did.

I'll try to show up there again tonight, if something else doesn't come up first.

Now the only real problem I have is deciding on which server to join first- one of the GT UT Forum people has a server (InstaGib) where the forum members can slam each other, too.

Anyhow, enough rambling for now. Thanks for the fun again, and sorry I missed you all last night.

Agent and mojo - I tried the shutdown patches and it didn't help. That's when I un-installed IE5 and had no more shutdown problems.

Iguess I'll try Liveware 3 and see what happens with that and IE5.

Echo audio makes the Gina card. You can check it out at www.echoaudio.com

Didn't somebody figure out the Liveware bit a few weeks ago? I thought if you started with 2.1 or higher, you could upgrade. But if you had 2.0 or earlier installed, the only cure was to format and give a clean install. It should be somewhere in the archives. I remember somebody put a lot of effort into this. It was right about the same time as the Abit fiasco.

I remember that thread. Lucky for me though, when I did my initial installation of all apps and hardware (minus the live card), I backed it all up on a bootable cd with Ghost. Now, it just takes me ~15 minutes to reformat my root partition and install my original config with Ghost.
