  • If you have DVD+G400...Please read

    Hi...
I'm looking for anyone with a DVD and a Matrox G400. I am Getting Blue Pixels in the movie playback...those blue pixels flicker on and off all over the movie. Is any one else experiencing this?

I am currently in contact with a matrox Tech. And I need to know if anyone else is experiencing this. If so please write down you system specs and describe the problem.

If you have a DVD+matrox G400 and everything is crystal clear for you...please let me know your system specs also.

As for the moment...we figure that it would be an incompability problem between the G400 and the Advance 5/133 board (VIA Chipset)

So any info on your systems would be appreciated....

    Thanks in advance

Nice and crystal clear for me
    System Specs. as per signature.
I have heard of others having the same problem though......
Might be worth a search through the older threads. Problem with that is the number of results for "DVD" or similar
Is the problem with TV-out only or monitor aswell?
Do you have DMA enabled on your DVDROM Drive?
I'm sure I've seen a few threads were problems like this were solved by re-installing Windows... a bit of a pain, but it would be worth it if it works?

      - The problem is only on my PC Monitor...the output to tv is very clear

      - DMA is enabled

      - I've tried a fresh windows install many times...was always the same.

      - I've got the Latest VIA Chipset Drivers

Everything works fine on my monitor, I'm just having troubles outputting to TV because it has to go through my VCR first (My TV is old and has no RCA jacks) - so I assume it's a CSS copy protection thing.

        System:
        Aopen AX63 Pro chipset - Intel P3-500 - 128 MB RAM - Matrox G400 32MB DH - SB Live! Value - 8.2 GB Fujitsu boot drive - 20.0 GB Fujitsu capture drive - DE-528 Network card - Matrox RR-G.

Haven't had any problems here whatsoever. I did have a DXR2 board in the machine until recently, but decided with my horsepower that I could do it with the CPU's alone. I've tried most of the software players but am currently using the latest PowerDVD under both 98 and W2K RTM. Hardware spec in sig.

Is it in any film, or only specific ones? What title does it definitely happen on?

                            SteveC...
It happens with any DVD...I own about 40dvd titles...and it does it with all of them. The problem even ocurs if I use Media Player to playback movie files (.mov .avi .mpeg...)

So no matter what dvd or movie file I play...I get the problem. Its seems to be in the overlay or something.
