I had problems on both of my systems with Via 4.20 4-in-1. I reinstalled the 4.19 and used AGP 4.0.
PD 5.52 is working fine for me. I heven't tried it in her system yet.

      Alfie:

I beg to differ with you re: Via AGP v4.00 not working with SS7 boards. It works fine here. At least, the one included with the 4-in-1 v4.2. When I unzipped it, there were folders labeled AGP and AGP133. I suppose these are AGP v4.00 drivers for the appropriate chip set.

When installing the Via AGP 4.00 drivers from within the 4-in-1 v4.2 setup, the version listed to be installed was AGP v4.00. I installed it, and it seems to be a lot better than 3.59 (I think that was the previous release?).

        Billko,
You're probably right, having read of problems with the latest 4in1,I downloaded the agp seperately, unfortunatley,I suspect the wrong one. Will now try the latest and get back. Thanks for the heads up!
Lesson, look before you leap and don't install drivers at 2:00am!

Original download of 420 4in1 drivers from Via were a bust.Deleted and downloaded again.
          Procedure was as follows:
Uninstalled via agp driver(2 times to make sure).Uninstalled Matrox 5.52(2 times to make sure).
Reinstalled Via agp v.400.with ALL programs closed.
Changed in display to standard vga.
Rebooted, with ALL programs closed installed Matrox 5.52.All is well!
Thanks billko for the heads up!

            Alfie:

I'm glad you stuck it out and tried one more time.

            Take care,

No Rags, I don't really care to elaborate, I'm just gonna leave it at that. I'm sure that you're doing a good job since you're an EE. It shows that you're really committed to what you do. I started in EE and it was too boring for me to stay awake in class so my hat's off to you for making it.

I have the same problem as Anid and Diuby. Fatal exception error in DX7. Specifically at address 0028:CD38xxxx. The first 8 characters of the BSOD error address are the same each time, but the final 4 are always different.

I don't think its VIA's fault. I loaded the new VIA AGP drivers with the Matrox 5.41 drivers still installed and everything ran just fine. The new VIA AGP drivers didn't change any benchmark score, but they worked fine. I then uninstalled the 5.41's and loaded the 5.52's and ran 3dMark99 - CRASH! I next ran Dxdiag and all test for Direct Draw worked fine, but Direct3D crashed on the HARDWARE accelerated spinning cube test. The resulting BSOD had the same 0028:CD38xxxx address as the 3dMark99 BSOD. Only a hard boot would restart the computer.

Sorry, Matrox, but this one just doesn't work with VIA and G200's and I don't think VIA's drivers are the problem this time. True, you probably didn't get a chance to try the two together since VIA released the new AGP drivers within a day or two of yours, but VIA AGP worked with the 5.41's just fine.

I hope you can solve this one soon.

I tried installing on my VIA + G200 system. Same problems as everyone else. I love wasteing a hour deleting and reinstalling drivers. I wish they would just say it doesn't work when the driver is released.

Tried to get new drivers to work with g200,but no go. Same results as Rab.
G400 and drivers work like a champ.
                    System is:
                    k6-3 400,Epox mvp3g2,128 megs pc100,g400,Asound express soundcard.
I'm sure Matrox will iron out the problem(s)with the next release.Until then,it appears g200 owners may be out of luck!
In 2d g200 worked fine,it was in 3d that bsod popped up.
