In fact, I've had the poor k63 orphan at 476 and rock stable running a 5.0 multiplier off a 95mhz fsb. Core voltage at (gulp) 2.8 (with an alpha cooler and the case off, of course.)
The only real reason I'm oc'ing at all is 'cause the 5ema orig. ran a k62 333 and the shysters who sold me the mb/proc/memory gave me some pc100 memory that won't run at 100 mhz--only 95. So I can't f**k with the fsb as you suggested. If I run my newer k63 at 100 fsb I lose one stick of ram, so therefore the odd setup. Works fine for me. Nice and zippy too.
Back on topic. I've learned to live with the limitations of this discount setup, and to accept the consequences...I just wish everyone else would understand that you get what you pay for, and if you're gonna expect this crap to run a Mazerati vid card, you are in for some disappointments.
