Just because I hate when people use some BS synthetic bench to prove their point, here are some REAL, tests...
Source: AnandTech
Umm Seems as though the Frequency enhanced Rage128PRO is in last place here, hmmm
Hmm still hanging out in the cellar...
you'll Also notice that the G400's 32bit Performance is about the same as the Rage128Pro's 16Bit...
and I don't know how you can not see the difference between the 2 displays... I set My parent's up with a AIW128 and it works great, 3D is decent... but now way that image looks better than a G400... Sorry...
But if you like it so, why come to the MURC forums?? just curious...
Craig BTW Sorry to the Bandwidth challenged people on this forum, I tried to keep the graphics to a minimum...

Alright people, we should really be nice to ronnie, he is just mad because he wasted his Paycheck from Micky D's to purchase an ATI Rage 128, and now he has finally found a benchmark that it can win in, so let him have his fun....I mean what else can he feel good about after getting burned like that? Give him a break, would ya?
Hey i think i just figured out what's going on....
I think ronnie is talking about the "RAGE FURRY MAXX" the newest (on the shelves) videocard from ATI because he said "on the box it say's it outperforms the G400" we all know the G400 was out after the Rage 128 chip wich is what we are all talking about.
Ronnie are you refering to the Rage Furry "MAXX"???
I don't think Ronnie has a Fury MAXX. He says he owns a 32meg card. Off course, the MAXX is a 32meg card, be he would nonetheless have said this 64meg marketing insanity
Wait, I can run a Fury faster than my G400 : disable bus mastering, downclock to 60%, share the IRQ three times... That should do it. Could we have more specifications about the test system, such as an IRQ list ?
But even without going into gory benchmark details (and syntethic benchs at that), could we please hear something about these small issues called scalability, stability, image quality (low res need not apply), compatibility ? The Rage 128 sucks on all of these... I had one (waited about 4 months for drivers before being able to use it in 3D), and I saw the difference (speed, stability, image quality) when I trashed it for a G400. And it was on a P3-450.
He's just an idiot. Either he's using a MAXX and not telling us, or he's got his G400 misconfigured, or he's a troll. Either way, he should be consigned to the ManojM and Tylau file.

Listen up, you primitive screwheads! See this? This is my BOOMSTICK! Etc. etc.

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed
I did a test with this Performance Test 2.0a
And got a passing endmark of 52.8 (whatever that is )
Here's the image I got... Now ronnie, please tell me if this is as shitty as it looks ... You're the expert, even though all of a sudden you use version 1.0 ...
Well I'm not the one that needs to prove anything to myself, the fact remains the Rage
Fury 32mg with the latest beta drivers is faster than the G400 on my system. There are
three or four results on winmag.com (wintune)
on line benchmark that has the same setup as me overclock 300a with 128 ram...and my Rage
out performs their G400's in every case..(3D)
and all the OpenGl tests. I was lucky and got my money back on the G400. Maybe some of you if you want my try to do the same if not don't bash me..
Sorry ronnie, but you happened to stumble into the Matrox Hardware Forum. Here people come look for help on how to get their Gx00 working. If you want to urge people to sell their G400 and buy an ATi Pro 128 MAXX 64 Fury 32 or whatever card you have switched to all of a sudden (I lost count, guys, someone help me out for a time? ), then there's always The Soap Box Forum, or if in doubt you could try to sell us BS in The Happy Shopper Forum... But NOT in here!!
Sorry Kruzin or Ant, if I overstepped my bounds now
Jord.
Edit P.S: I would love to have a FURRY MAX, maybe we can sell the idea to Matrox?
P.S2: Now I never know if a 52.8 endmark is good for my PC/setup

Well I'll try and post again since the last
was censored, I didn't all of a sudden started using ver 1.0 dunno where you got that from, and yes the matrox was sharing irq with two other devices my scsi card and USB host controller on IRQ 11, and no the g400 wasn't overclocked didn't think they was need but I may be wrong, the G400 must be overclock to get such marks
Censored??
Um...no...nothing in this thread has been censored...I'd appreciate it if you didn't fabricate those type of lies. Perhaps the server didn't answer when you tried to post, but it was not censored.
And the idea that you are using ver 1.0 of that benchmark program came from one of your own earlier posts...
I'm using ver 1.0
As to your G400 performance, it's so obvious you had a config problem, a blind man could see it. Your statement that G400 was only 5% faster than your G200 was a dead givaway. Then you tell us it was sharing IRQs with other busmastering devices.
Sounds to me that you did not want to take the time to set the card up properly (or lacked the basic technical skills to do so).
My suggestion is to go be happy with your ATI, since you seem to be so convinced it's such a great card. Further, I suggest you stop baiting the users here. You've made your opinion clear, as have the MURCers. I don't think there is anything left to be said. You aren't going to change our minds, and we're not going to change yours. If this threads turns into a flame war, it will be censored and locked.
