Thanks Rik. That wasn't the technique I used before but it did list the test details. Unfortunately, all of the results are listed as "N/A". Maybe I misremember (it has been since December) and the results are simply gone after you close the benchmark (I thought there was some trick to it). I guess I could always cough up some bucks if I was really interested in tracking these results.

Ok then ... let there be light ...

Since the very first release, Futuremark (now MadOnion) had a severe bug in their 3D Mark benchmarks.

Instructions how to get ridiculous high scores:[*] launch 3D Marks at highest stable FSB[*] run the complete benchmark once[*] safe results for comparison (don't quit)[*] set your FSB to 66.6MHz via SoftFSB[*] rerun benchmark at lower FSB[*] safe result & enjoy your score

Go ahead and post your new scores ...

            Cheers,
            Maggi

PS: just in case ... I did run it on my G400.

PS Do you suppose my p3 would run on a 66mz fsb?
I bet I could break 6000 if it did.
Anyone know how to use SoftFSB on a BF6?

Well folks this what my PIII 650@735 came up with. This is without Maggies fiddle.

                3DMark Result: 3213 3D marks
                CPU Speed: 234
                Game 1 - Helicopter - Low Detail: 66.2 FPS
                Game 1 - Helicopter - Medium Detail: 45.6 FPS
                Game 1 - Helicopter - High Detail: 20.3 FPS
                Game 2 - Adventure - Low Detail: 59.9 FPS
                Game 2 - Adventure - Medium Detail: 45.6 FPS
                Game 2 - Adventure - High Detail: 29.8 FPS
                Fill Rate (Single-Texturing): 262.4 MTexels/s
                Fill Rate (Multi-Texturing): 260.6 MTexels/s
High Polygon Count (1 Light): 2456 KT
High Polygon Count (4 Lights):2277 KT
High Polygon Count (8 Lights):2070 KT
8MB Texture Rendering Speed: 225 FPS
16MB Texture Rendering Speed: 218.7 FPS
32MB Texture Rendering Speed: 167.2 FPS
64MB Texture Rendering Speed: 106.9 FPS
Bump Mapping (Emboss, 3-pass): 105.8 FPS
Bump Mapping (Emboss, 2-pass): 133.2 FPS
Bump Mapping (Emboss, 1-pass): 232.4 FPS

                The bit thats missing
                Enviro bump mapping 95.6 FPS

Since then I put on the lastest beta drivers before returning to the 5.41 version. Now despite overclocking to 806mhz I can't get the same scores!! So I've screwed up something somewhere unless this ones a fluke!

How did you do that maggi?

A Fill Rate of 452,3 MTexels/s seams suspisious IF you used a G400...

buy the way here are my scores:

                      Hi Chuck,

just try those various PLLs instead of a MoBo selection, but beware that it might crash upon FSB readout ...

Seriously, until the very latest release I had to do it that way and I found my PLL after several attempts.

                      ThePIT:

Not a bad score, but where's your EMBM score ?
                      You used a G400, didn't you ?

                      Cheers,

MAggie you can also cut and paste new (higher) numbers using photoshop...Why mess with the set-up of a benchmarkng tool? Does it not invalidate the whole premise?

                              Basically you'e right, LAMFDTK ...

BUT: using my way you could dump it onto VHS (via DH of course) and 'proof' your score to a friend (if he's not willing to 'see' your G400 live) ...

Marvel or RR-G users could even recapture it and post it as an AVI or whatever.
