There's something new...It won't even install
The setup file seems corrupted or something like that.
Did someone succesfully installed them?

No problem, here.
If you use good 'uninstall ettiquette', you don't even use setup.exeThe BEST is reserved for the long haul!

The win2000 drivers 5.11 has a much better powerdesk. The Monitor settings works like it should. Now the same as win9x. I problems in 5.10 in the "Adjust a different display Mode" where no settings showed up. Now in 5.11 it works. They did something to the g400icd.dll because now it is 6KB smaller in size. I had no trouble installing it. I uninstalled the old drivers first.

I always uninstall my old drivers before installing the new ones but I don't get why you say that you didn't have to run the setup on the new drivers.
Maybe I'm tired but you uncompress them and start the setup program. It's the way I've always done it but this time the executable is giving an illegal operation.
Just curious to know if I'm the only one.

Dittos.
Used the Matox unistall as I have done the past umpteenth driver updates. Each time till now has worked flawlessly cleaning out the old Matrox stuff. Now this spanking new driver will just crash the machine mere milliseconds of clicking on the setup icon.
This new pup (beta 6.01)just doesn't want to be installed. My system is nutin special, just an old Tyan 1832DL BX (most current bios) running an ol PII 300@450 w/256K PC100.
Been running flawlessly for 2 years now and just about a year with the G400MAX.
I can do this procedure in my sleep but this beta 6.01 is being very nasty. Have downloaded thrice to be sure no file corruption during d/l. Unzipped this guy many times for the same reason. Have cleaned the system with Matrox uninstall same # of times. Each attempted install ended the same way.
Same procedure ran flawlessly installing Beta 6.00, 5.25 and all the older drivers as well.
My advice is to avoid till big M fixes install problem

here's the way most people companies have you install their drivers:
uninstall the old video drivers, reboot.
let the vga adapter install.
go to start/settings/control panel
double click the system icon
click on the device manager tab
click the plus beside display adapters
double click the std vga adapter listed there
click on the driver tab
click on update driver
(it gets a little fuzzy here because it differs depending on what version of windows you're using)
click specify location
check the box beside specify location and type in c:\mgafold\w9x_601
(or wherever you installed the drivers to)
then click next a few times... it'll ask you to reboot, and you're done! simple

Yep, forgot about the "old fasioned" way to install the vid drivers. Well lo and behold, doing in manualy did the install trick. Drivers installed smoothly and W98SE is so far so good (only 10 minutes into the new drivers).
Seems Matrox's automated "Install" is flakey in it's latest incarnation.
If anyone is going to install the new beta then manually is the best way (outlined above) until Big M fixes the installer.
Felt obligated to follow up.
Drivers good, Auto installer bad.
