I did not post to troll (although my post did have troll-like qualities ) I posted because I'm tired of seeing people eek out a couple more fps on their G400 so they can get 24fps in 1024X768 instead of 20fps! I'm sorry but toda the G400 is not the optimal gaming card. It's just fine for desktop work but when it comes to gaming it's not even close. Yes, you are torturing yourself trying to get the G400 optimal for gaming which it is not.

I also posted this because the board seems kinda slow lately and I thought I might bring a little fire back to the boards. Nothing is wrong with the G400 is my book. In fact my second system which will be my DVD/fileserver at my house will be using my G400 until I upgrade to the NV20 (Then my Geforce 2 GTS will probly go to my other system.) I'll probably give the G400 away for free to a friend.

Comments like "This is the G800", and "basically a poor card for gaming" is most definitely trolling. You don't know what Matrox's next stuff is going to be like. Go be a PITA on some nVidia forum.

And gaming? Hey, my card runs fine. It's a lot of fun for people to say "hey, 120fps is awesome with this new GF2" as a kick their ass from one side of the map to the other

You must be NUTS to think that you can't enjoy a game with less than 200fps @ 1600x1200.

I play unreal with my G200 on a K6-3 400. Ok, sometimes it's just too slow, but most of the time I kick those "Mommy I want a gayfarce2 GTS!!" kiddies back to the womb in UT.

If you want to spend the $500 on a card that will be obsolete next year, go ahead and spend those bucks.

My G200 still is NOT obsolete when it comes to image quality and 2D speed. Those ~$120 was money well spend.

Apparently I'm a better gaming buff than you are then. I can play any game you throw at me with my G400, without so much of a tweaking-to-do. Not at the I-don't-care-how-many-fps you have, but I think it's playable. I don't have the need to go any higher than 1024x768x16 or 32bit, even some games are better playable at 800x600 (Red Alert 2 comes to mind).

Now my question to you, DosFreak, is: What the heck are you still doing here? The only posts I've seen from you since you bought that GF2 (or whatever) were trolls and flames towards any Matrox cards. Not even so much as a trying to help posts, but maybe I missed them, or I categorically don't want to remember them, but mosts answers to people seeking help here were in the category of: "Buy a GF whatever card", as if that would be of much help.

Besides, if you were still going for the role of MURC-Jester, it's too late. That job's already been taken. So if you ever again think the main forum is a little slow, think again and go post something useless on any of the nVidia boards you find out there.
