    Himself:

Real paranoia if you ask me.

If you followed the postings over on Matrox T.S. you'd see the DAILY links to this forum.

I really don't understand what your problem is...

The official T.S. forum has it's function, and so does the MURC. This is understood by big M and I'm sure Ant knows what is going on as well.

When you think about it, it is a beautiful relationship. Matrox owners have BOTH venues in which to get their problems solved...and the support group at 'M' keeps a close eye on what's going on over here only in order to help their clients in the most efficient way that there is.

I'm cynical about video card companies, what can I say. You'll notice an "if" in my comments but I won't quibble, I don't trust marketing departments. You can call that paranoia if you like, yes, I'm a crazy paranoid person, everybody's out to get me. Why wouldn't Matrox want to host the equivalent of MURC? Instead of referring people to MURC they could simply get all the murc regulars to use their forums. Every time some non Matrox owner made a comment regarding performance, they could trot out the troops to regurgitate the party line. That's what Creative does with their news server, no criticism goes unanswered by someone from the company.

Oh well, off to draw on the wall in my own blood..

Why wouldn't they? Because MURC is independant and unofficial... that means it has a function of it's own (as others have pointed out)

The issue of circulation lists are to do with the Montreal Media Relations department who it seems from my 5 years of dealing with Matrox are a law unto themselves and seem quite detached from reality at times, I've long since stopped trying to work them out

With regards to forums I think Matrox are right to have tech support forums run the way they are doing. If they let things get too loose over there things will start to break down and it will become counter productive. The Matrox forums are not general forums they are specifically Tech Support forums for the Tech Support crew to try and do tech support business. This is exactly the same sort of work they do via the phone or email or fax, I'm sure you wouldn't want to see them carrying on general conversations outside of their remit by any of those formats so why by their forums?

The MURC is independent and hopefully that lends some credability to it, if I think something sucks then I'll say so and bring it out into the open, as do users of these forums. I view the MURC as a user group not as a "fan site" if you see what I mean.

As Haig says the Matrox TS forums are one of the MURCs biggest referrers. I think the two forums share a good healthy relationship

That's just nonsense himself. If you bothered to look on our forum, you would see that we are allways giving the url of MURC for anyone looking for reg hacks and unsupported tweaks. Alot of MURC regulars can confirm to this, or just do a search for murc on all of our forums and you'll get over 100 hits. Search for matroxusers on all of our forums and you'll get over 200 hits.

                Confirmed ...

At least some important people from Canada know the real worth of these halls, although I wished the official support would be better.

I could imagine an annual contest/give-away could raise some major positive feedback ...

                hint, hint

If things get too OT, u should start a new thread. It'd help out the discusion as well.

Donny, excuse us for straying off topic sometimes, but you are right. Our only problem is the padlocks Kurzin bought at the last sale-out at his DIY shop. The moment we start a new thread about the same thing, it's padlocked

                    J/K

As there's still no real Matrox update on what the new drivers do, and they don't seem to speed up things, we stray off topic.

What the hell are sku's, btw?

                    Jord.

Just to stay on topic ... SKU is Shelf Keeping Unit; identifies a particular product/package.
