hmmm...? rylan and everyone hoping, why don't you all quit hoping, buy another card for now and get the new Matrox card when it comes out. That's what I did And I'm very happy I did it. Doesn't mean you aren't loyal, or anything stupid like that, it means you are tired of waiting like most of us.

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

Dave echos my feelings on these guys who are bashing Matrox for not having a competitive product in the gamers market right now.

I could see being upset if they were like nVidia and overhyped every upcoming chip like there is no tomorrow, but Matrox doesn't do it, and the reasoning is rather simple: Specifications are always subject to change, and most certainly always do Now, I would rather have a company just release a product when it's ready and gold, and announce it at that time than 'leak' information out that is overhyped and obviously false *cough*all nvidia products *cough*. It saves a lot of people from saving on false dreams and at the same time doesn't get everyone's hopes up. It's rather wild when there is a left hook that people weren't ready for or expecting

If you don't like it, well there is not much that can be done other than just go buy another video card that suits your needs. Get over it, it's just a video card

        dZeus, Jord, Kruzin, Joel

Having been around a while and actually having read most if not all the threads concerned, I can categorically say your all full of it.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked a simple question http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/010175.html and put up with all the moronic comments that came back. Answering this question would not have violated any NDA.

If you can't add something intelligent, do others a favour and say nothing.

        ------------------
        Primary system, Asus P3B-F1, PIII 550E o'cd to 733, 128Mb PC133 RAM, 15 Gb LM drive, HP CDRW & Travan drive, SBLive, 3Com 905C NIC, G400 and a Sceptre 17" monitor.

Secondary system, ASUS P3B-F1, PIII 450 o'cd to 600, 128Mb PC100 RAM, 18Gb KA, 5x CL DVD Kit, ZIP Drive, AWE64, Intel EPro+ PnP NIC, AOpen GeForce2 MX and a Sceptre 17" monitor.
Nothing sadder than seeing a beautiful theory getting slammed by an ugly fact!

Sure it would have. Even acknowledging that Matrox was developing a new graphics card would be in violation of an NDA.

well.. as answering that voids the NDA (although BBz sometimes gives hints, watch out for them ), there's a more important reason why you didn't get a direct answer to that question:

Do you think that anyone in the know would ever answer your question with a 'no'? Give me one good reason why the answer could have been 'no'. So it makes it a bit of a rethorical question, which deserves answer like you got, don't you think?

              I agree with Helevetia here.
If you're tired waiting, go on with something else, this loyalty thing over a video card is somewhat pathologic I think.

There's other good card out there if your g400/450 is crippling your system in your opinion. (Radeon rock here at least).

blue_helix, doesn't matter if the information is obvious or not. Strictly speaking, an NDA restricts the signer from discussing anything (including confirming or denying) as it relates to the target of the agreement. It would take an extraordinary breach of this agreement (and subsequent consequences) to cause a company to pursue legal action against the violator and this rarely happens.

Yeah, and those numbers of yours regarding where Matrox makes its money from, HP would have my ass if that kind of thing were released.

Great I'm all of a sudden a BB again, with nothing to say

Unam, I am NOT a BB, nor do I know anything more than you do. I am just the moderator of the FAQ forums.

I know a couple of things about Matrox videocards that I can help you and others with. I don't know jack-shit about future cards. And I got a gutt-feeling the BBz don't know either. And even if those BBz know, you won't get a thing from them.

So, with 2 or 3 threads about the same thing in <A HREF="http://forums.murc.ws/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics=Matrox+Hardware=5=5 =" TARGET=_blank>
MHW</A> and not one of us knowing what we're talking about, why don't we just wait for some word of Matrox and start all over then?

I'm as of now keeping outside these G800 threads, when it comes to an answer. No matter what you throw at me

                    Jord.

The question is not IF they are working on something because they would be stupid not to, but WHAT are they working on and WHEN will it be avaliable.

                      WHAT - I couldn't say even if I knew.
WHEN - As some know around here the answer is SOON.

                        Maggi ... Your welcome!

blue_helix ... I'm not the least bit ruffled. I may have been responding to you but the comment really was directed towards Unam. Unam just doesn't seem to appreciate that anybody that knows anything is under NDA and/or what an NDA is. You also are seeing the results of having countless people coming into these forums asking the same questions that can't be answered: What is the G800? When will it ship? Will it be better than NVIDIA's latest or upcoming products? All you'll get from these questions is sarcastic comments, wild speculations, and irate responses. Then you have people who try to inflame the Matrox loyal by stating that Matrox can't compete in the gaming market without knowing what's in store with their next video card. You may get infuriated by a lot of flames or be amused by some of the speculations or perhaps even educated by some of the technical discussions but you won't get any real information about the next Matrox video card.

I can also add, where else can one go and find people in the know, like Haig, Zwish,Rom and a bloody mess of Matrox beta testers from the Video group, Linux group and Windows group this accessible?!

I know the temptation is great, but asking the wrong thing is moot.

It's obvious you weren't around here while we were waiting for an OpenGL ICD for the G200 to materialize, were ya? Because if you had, you would get the "SOON" joke
