Its been a while eh? Well, at least our burly G400 max cards have stood the test of time. Sure, they aren't fast vs the state of the art competition, but I never imagined my G400 max would still be fairly useable after 2 years!
But where is the G800 we all wanted........??
Oh well. If Matrox does ever bring out another card based on a chipset that is todays equivalent of the G400 max of yesterday, then I'm interested. No more of this ridiculous head-casting crap and enough with G200 made to run a million monitors!! Just give us our Dual-head 2D/3D card that whoops the competition and comes in a Marvel version too, and don't forget the matching Rainbow runner, or why not this time make the Marvel the equal of the non-marvel card in 3D??
Anyways.........They have to bring out something someday, don't they? Come on Matrox, get back in the 3D race and whoop some butt!
While I do beleive that soon* we will see a wonderful new 2d/3d card from Matrox, but personally I'd say forget the possability of seeing it in a marvel/RRG version. While M have been reasonably quite on the next product, there have been definite noises that we will not see and video capture hardware in the low end anymore.

* soon is a trade mark of Matrox which has a meaning of sometime this century

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.
Sometime this century ain't too promising when you're just barely into THIS century, eh? Bummer.
Well, as long as they make something compatable with their G400 rainbow runner. That'd be good enough I guess. Although, as long as they keep selling Marvels or eTV's, I guess thats fine too.

Unfortunately, I believe that Matrox has already said that they will be doing neither.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
Great, so instead of killer hardware from Matrox with equally killer drivers, I'm left choosing from ok to very good hardware from ATi with stupid drivers or I guess the other manufacturers.
I want the equivalent of what I have now, a 2D/3D card with DVD acceleration and Dual-head and maybe video editing.
Well, since Matrox has left me out in the cold, what are my options come upgrade time?
ccoltas, I think you'll get all of your wishes except the video editing, and for getting the video into you system there are a lot more options avaliable these days
