  • Anyone here satisfied with your Matrox Card?

I mean I don't spend my life on 3D games.

I spend like 95% of my time on 2D.

So what's the fussy with slow 3D? Just disable 32bit color or switch to lower res or disable some funky features that is un-necessary. I don't play at 1600x1200 @ 32bit with 4x FSAA

    Hello DQ
On the rare occasions that I use a G400 to play 3d FPS games it is at a resolution of 800*800*16bit. In this realm it plays reasonably well.
As an aside I had a lodger who had a Geforce 256 who was able to play at higher resolutions but he often commented on the picture quality of my G400/Diamondtron combination.

    regards MD

Yep, I'm satisfied with my G400 sitting in my second computer in the corner until I get a new Sony 21" Monitor and a Geforce 3.
My Geforce 2 GTS is getting kinda slow because I like to play my games in 1024X768+ 4x FSAA.

I'm saticfied with my matrox cards using a 17" monitor @ 1024*768 85Hz 32bit! Using a G200 mil. in my server and a G400 Max in my "Games" computer!

1024*768 32bit with all the games that support it.
1024*768 16bit with all the others.

Totaly satisfied... It's a bit old and doesn't have the newest 3D features but my G400MAX still runs everything in at least 1024x768@16bit so it is OK with a 17" monitor I have... Oh, yeah... 1gig Athlon may have something to do with good performance, huh?

I've got a Max. I don't know of another card that can beat it for its overall quality and functionality. Great image and build quality and flexible DH features for DVD viewing, etc. I hope the next-gen Matrox 2D/3D accelerator card doesn't lose any of the DH features.

My g400 vanila works just fine, great for the few games I do play - I only have a 17" monitor, so the higher resolutions arn't a concern for me

Speed isn't too much of a concern. Most games I can run at 1024x768x32 on my G400 MAX. The newest ones still run fine at 800x600x32. Quality is unbeatable. My Matrox Millennium I is still doing well in my P133

I am.... I'm using a G450 Business card and still playing Games as well. It runs my 24" Sony GDM-FW900 at 1520 x 950 and my 21" Dell Trinitron at 1024 x 768. I love having 42.3" of Trinitron Lovin Real-Estate on my desk.

I can still play UT with the G450 online with a crappy 26400 bps connection. UT in 16:10 format 1024 x 576 is really nice.

I have thought about putting the G400 Max back in since it's a bit faster for gaming but like the G450 better for image quality and higher res for the 2nd monitor. Who needs more FPS to Kick-Butt online.
