What I can tell you, however, is that ATI is very determined to compete with NVIDIA in the high-end market. Their next generation Radeon chip seems to be have every feature the Geforce 3 has and more. ATI also believes that their Hyper Z technology has a lot of room for improvement. You probably already know that the Radeon II will not be launched next month, but some of our industry sources say that ATI will launch a Radeon running at higher clockrates very soon.
Matrox has not given up on the gamers market either, but, unfortunately, that is all we can say for now. Stay tuned for more.
And for the person in here who said the Win2k drivers for the Radeon suck, don't believe everything you read. ATI's driver team has nearly doubled since they bought ArtX, and the drivers have VASTLY improved in quality. Also, they release updated SUPPORTED NON BETA drivers a lot more frequently now. I know 3 or 4 people who run them in Win2k and the drivers ROCK. Unless 80-90fps in 1024x768x32bit color in Quake 3 isn't enough for you. My 64meg VIVO arrives tomorrow, and I'll be kissing this crappy Geforce 2 BUH-BYE.

"We also managed to prove that ATI has some very serious issues that need to be tended to if they are to compete with NVIDIA going forward. Windows 2000 is as much a power user's OS as it is a corporate OS and ATI's drivers under Windows 2000 are simply unacceptable for any gamer to tolerate. They have definitely been getting better but they are still leaps behind NVIDIA."
If you thought those numbers were brutal, take a look at these pathetic numbers:
These are pretty damn recent articles...I'm not pulling anything from 6 months ago. The oldest article is about 4 weeks old....the other is about 10 days old.
Anybody who tells you that ATI's Windows2000 support is 'there' is really telling you half the story.
I was at CeBIT yesterday, got the pen, but miss Marvell didn't like me, she didn't throw the T-Shirt or the wallet
Damn bad weather on the way back, snow and 170kmh on the freeway don't go together quite well...
I met Haig, he just came in from the airport. He's a bit smaller as I expected...
The only thing I will say is that I now am even more determined to be a bit more patient, hehehe

I met him too and found out he's a greater person than anybody could imagine ...
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

Great pics Steve. I think that last one should have the caption: "I'm not as think as you drunk I am".
Maggi: I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way-- it was just the way that the sentnce reads coupled with the idea of someone's first impressions that gave me the laugh-- it wasn't meant to demean Haig in the least.
