In the next drivers for Windows 98/ME they will put entrys for Matrox G1600 Millennium 128Mb, and Matrox F1600 Fusion 256Mb, perhhaps Matrox Rainbow Runner 2 or something!!!

        LOL!!!

We know its a joke when we find Matrox GeForce3 Millennium!!....., or perhaps Matrox Graphics G550 Millennium 32Mb with onboard "NudeRendrer"

For the last month or so there's been a huge tsunami of rumors of new Matrox cards. Where have these rumors started? Can anyone tell? It sounds to me like there's been only one little teeny weeny rumor that Matrox MAY have something new on their drawing boards. And as rumors tend to spread, this particular rumor has been like
                Code:
                f(x)=((e^x)!)^x
(if you understand mathematics ). The question is, why? I suggest that there truly is a need for a new card that can kick some ass and at the same time have a good image quality.
Hey, maybe you and I could... you know... [SLAP] Agh!

villerk: I think it is because
                  a) It's been such a long time since M introduced anything new, they must have done something all this time, right?
                  b) The last "G800 boom" was some 6 (?) months ago, and it ended with some article that said that M wasn't going to introduce any new hardware - at least not before the Game Developers Conference...

BTW I got a little overexcited... the correct function would be

                    f(n)=((2^n)!)^n, where n e Z+

No guys.. the rumors don't start here...

but yeah did I mention the other day I went for a tour of matrox (Since I live in Canada Eh) and well it was kinda cool since I got a free sample video card...

It has some funky numbers on it.

                          MTXG550MX64DHTV-O?

I tried to install the drivers and it keeps on coming up as a stupid G800... Like come on... you guys say they don't exist... it must be a bug with this oddly shaped Three Output Video Card on A Black PCB with tons of Heatsinks on the Ram and a Huge one that covers up my top PCI slot (Geesh.. you would think they would at least design it so you could still use your full complements of slots...)

Oh and other than that it seems to run windows ok... and it gets a 3D2001Mark of ~5700 but I think it might be a driver glitch...

I didn't like how loud it was so I gave it to some guy for 30 dollars and an ATI Rage Pro Turbo 8MB card... although it is quieter... it doesn't render Laura in tomb raider 3 nude or that picture of Mrs. Pace in the soap box.. Damn.. I didn't even think to keep it for that... oh well... its probably for the best anyways.

How's about we start a "Build your own next gen Matrox card FAQ?"

It should be no more difficult than the alphabet, and here is the first 3 steps

                                A. Get Trident 3D Imagé 9750
                                B. Remove backing plate
                                C. Throw PCB away

Please feel free to join in! Remember, we need to get Fusion and RN in this card, as well as some good PR work, including a box n stuff

I'm sure we can make up some good material for the most reputable of news sites around the web
