Going back to the start of the thread and the speculation about 3Dlabs or Permedia being involved....

I have a 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX1 in my 3D workstation (Windows2000). These things are VERY FAST when using trueSpace, Lightwave or other programs with OpenGL enhanced features.

It makes the consumer OpenGL engines look very lame indeed, and it's at the low/middle end of their product line. This card also has 100% OGL T&L in hardware, 16 lights (2 sided) etc. etc. At the high end their Wildcat's are just plain nuts, but then they cost $2000

Interesting point: they have dual displays and most are genlock compatable.

you completely missed my point

Those quotes I chose can lead to the presumption that Matrox is having an eye on the high-end 3D gfx market and the main company that came to my mind was 3D Labs.
But since most people associate 3D Labs with Permedia, I wanted to make clear that I had different accelerators in mind.

I had a GVX 210 (basically two GVX1 on one PCB) at work that had two VGA outputs, feeding two 21" Eye-Qs, but the main problem was that whenever I started to tweak anything (colordepth, resolution, refresh, buffers etc.) I ran into trouble.
Therefore I decided to use the predefined settings, accesible via their systray control applet ... big mistake
NT went instantly to BSOD, calling Doc Watson and all, error caused by DDraw.dll
very reproducable

Needless to say that it had to go out, cause I need a stable card.

Haven't had any real problems with the 3Dlabs board here, but then not using that exact setup. Win2K's not having problems at all, esp. with trueSpace & Lightwave.

By any chance could you run any GL benchmark on that rig ?
