I had the same problem with massive screen corruption after I moved my G400 from a P2B to a A7V. I changed biosesses in both the MB and the G400, changed memory sticks, changed 4-in-1 drivers and a bunch of other stuff. I tried Win ME and Win 98se so joy.

Finally I noticed that I was finally in AGP2x which I was never able to get working with my old MB. So just for the heck of it I used the Matrox tweak thingie to change it to 1x and I haven't had any crashes since (of that type, I'm still using Windows after all)

anyways give it a shot and see if it helps

Not that I want to sound rude or anything but is turning off functionality really something we should be doing to get stability? Between Microsoft, VIA and Matrox there's a big problem with the G400.

Functionality is only useful if it makes a positive difference.

Personally if it's there I like to use it. Call me strange but I don't use the G400 so I can turn off all the options, I use it and try to get the best I can out of it.

Was just surfing around killing time when I came across this in the "Official" Matrox Tech Support forums

            http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/005344.html

Which also links to this one

I'm going to follow up on this if I have time today or tomorrow.

            EDIT- #$@!@#$! url code
