I like to con people, but I also like to insult them. What if I could combine the two, I would call it - Consult !

Dogbert, VW doesn't own Porsche! Porsche's a firm still on it's own although there was a time when it was likely that Mercedes or BMW would buy them out.

Wombat, do some more research, that article is misleading.
Chrysler owns intersest in Mitsubishi Motor Company North America, when DSM was in action, Chrysler had high interest in that division, but it has been dissolved. Chrysler is no where near owning a controlling interest in Mitsubishi International. Yes, that does matter. That is akin to GM's proposed interest in Daewoo Motors, NA where they would have no say in Daewoo Int'l.

Gee, sorry to have introduced such a non-sequitur to this discussion when I mentioned car names. What I meant was that the part for a Toyota Corolla 1983 doesn't necessarily fit a Toyota Corolla 1993 just because the product name is the same. It seemed this was being claimed about the Millennium name - one driver fit anything called Millennium.
From what I understand, the only reason the previous products are supported in the drivers specifically from Matrox is that they offer unified drivers. This provides an illusion that one set of drivers fits all, when what is really happening is that Matrox's installer can pull out the right combination of driver files for your card model when you run their installer. This is much preferred over the methods of companies like ATI where you need to use reverse polish logic to figure out what card and chip you have amongst all of the overlapping models and chips, and then download the right one.
But I don't think I really had to explain that to you guys who are very knowledgeable on Matrox hardware, so perhaps I missed the meaning of what was being said by Jorden. Perhaps you meant that the driver development for the ICD didn't require a re-write from scratch as long as the chipset is derived from the G200/G400 line.

Hey guys, ain't this the Matrox Hardware Forum??? Aren'T we supposed to dicuss "Matrox Hardware"? Thing like "look, I found this info on that G8XX card", or "You can do tat with this Maqtrox G6XX card". Frank(l)y, I don't give a damn who owns who, as long as I got a hot chick ( picture Heidi Klum or Caprice Bourret... :P ) riding by my side Anyway, I don't give a damn about the OpenGL ICD being included or not, as I'm going to buy a G550 for my "work" computer... (but it would have surprised me if Matrox didn't ship a fully fonctionnal ICD with the G550). As for my gaming machines, I plan on changing my Radeon LE 32 MB for a Radeon 2 64 MB and keep my GeForce 3... It looks like there will be no "Matrox Gaming" for a long long time...
