Look,while it's nice that matrox may finally have something up their sleeve regarding a more gaming friendly card,it still isn't officially anounced and until it is,and what the official specs are,it's all conjecture at this point in time,save for the very few people of this board who are in the loop ...


Let them anounced it,have it available for review and compare it to it's direct competitors at the time so that the rest of the world can pass judgement on how good it really is...

why does everybody assume that multi chip solutions cost a lot of money? chips can be turned out for a matter of a few dollars. when you buy a card i doubt that the hardware and shipping costs more than 40 dollars max. what you are paying for is the ultra expensive and sophisticated r& d. i doubt that a multi chip card would cost more than 5 dollars more to manufacture than a single chip board once you had the design.

It's quit a long time to hear something so heartwarming about Matrox!

I owned one of the first MGA Mill in Germany (no one had heard of them) and also a G200. The 2D-Features were great! But when 3D-Gaming came along, there was no way around Nvidia (first I tried dual Voodoo2 ;-)).

But this will be great: All what i need in one card! The end of this sucking RAMDACS on Nvidia cards (one time 85Hz, next time 80Hz).

If this is true, it will be a great summer!!

I would like to thank Ant for stopping by the Ars thread begun by WebHobbit. I am looking forward to more information on the Parhelia as it becomes available.

Count me among the long time owners of a G400Max. One of the best cards I've ever owned. The Parhelia as proposed is exciting, and I'm hopeful that Matrox is able to follow through.

Well one fact remaines, I'm proud of being a MURCer. This forum is bar none the best one I've visited. The main reason is that the majority of people here know what they are talking about, another reason is Ant.

And one other reason is that we don't seem to have too many "trolls" around here if you understand what I mean.

when I talked about it with my mates, they couldnt get past the term 'arse casting' and that was the end of it!

I cant mention Matrox hardware, without one of them giggleing!

Gentlemen, I have posted information that was cross-verified by more than 2 reliable sources I have. I explained why the information was vague, and am only wishing to keep all informed on the progress of this story. If the project gets squashed, MURC will be one of the first to post up such information. If I find out we were wrong, I will be the first to stand up and say I was wrong.

The accusations made about Ant and myself are completely false. Ant has no need to prove himself to the MURCers here, we all know he is a straight shooter when it comes to Matrox related items.

I have been watching the knee-jerk reactions wondering what the reaction would have been if I had released the entirity of the information I have gathered. Surely there would be men with no heads losing their lunch
