That's your problem not mine md... he's been a pompus arse long enough. And no it's not just in the post above that caused me to post how I feel or many others that agree with me. If you pile up all the caca for the last few months he's posted you would see why. How many times has Ant himself had to wack him over the head for the constant rhetoric?... too many times.

Hey Greebe...WTF is your major malfunction anyways???...

I just expressed an opinion, which i'm fairly sure that quite a lot of users that are primarily gamers, which IS the main market the card is targeting, will obviously be comparing it to future card releases from ATI,Nvidia,etc...

I'm pretty sure i've heard you as well as other users who knew what the card was all about before the official anouncement hint that it would be the biggest thing since the invention of sliced bread and easily beat a GF4 in performance(it already does it in the features departement,of course) and even claiming that it would still compete with anyhing other card makers released this year quite easily.....

                  Oh and btw....it's spelled pompous....

I think is quite obvious. You!!!

Greebe knows a hell of alot of stuff about computers and it is kind of irritating to him when people come in here spouting s*** that they know nothing about.

As someone else said around here before, until there is actual hardware available it is only vaporware. And I personally am not going to compare the Parhelia with vaporware. Plus nVidia has a good reputation of not living up to their stated vapor specs. This is just damage control on their part.

As for ATI's 2D image quality you sir do not know what you are talking about. I have even seen people on ATI forums complaining about it's bad image quality and it's s***y drivers.

I definitely can confirm that. The "POS" R8500 cannot even drive a digital connection at 1920x1200 without stupid artifacts cropping out all over the place. (And yes, it's an original ATI RETAIL R8500 at 275Mhz/275Mhz. I've changed the card 5 times with the shop owner, until both of us gave up in frustration and anger. I topped up my credits to a matrox RT2500 instead. Much happier now, thank you. )

Vid cards I currently own and use: Obsidian X24, Matrox RT2500, Matrox G400 and 3DLabs GVX420.

                          Fact is,the parhelia was touted as being a GF4 killer,thanks no small part it's bandwith advantage over it,so expecting a 30~40% improvement over a GF4 isn't unreasonable...

The other issue is that performance advantage could come in handy once faster cards are released from both Nvidia and ATI within the next few months, simple as that really, and hopefully it'll come down to either brand preference or driver issues as deciding factors, not the hardware's actuall capabilitites since they'll be to close for users to really make an issue out of that...

I have yet to see a single person that would have a clue about it claim that.

Sounds to me like you're getting sucked into the hype like most nVidiots and ATI fanatics

I haven't seen Matrox say anything like this. Sure everyone would want the newest thing to be the fastest but maybe it's not going to be? I'll make up my mind when it's on the shelf - err, more likely in my hands as long it's faster than a GF3 I'll be well pleased
                              Cheers, Reckless

Well from my eyes the ATI 8500 is little worse than than the G550 which I found better than my G400 under 2d. In 3d theres no comparison the ATI is a lot better. However the new card when that ships will certainly address that issue.
