I don't either unless they go for 16bpp in some future product. This baby is SHARP and the colors are just beautiful.

here is a pic of the GPU from pcgames.de, they say the ram is INFINEON rated at 3.3ns, that means 300Mhz is guaranteed. they also say they have a board and will have benchmarks in their next issue (29.06).

any advantage of having more ram on board ??

            Hi,

I read through this thread, and I wasn't sure if I found the answer I was looking for.

Instead of triplehead, I'm interested in dual display with the third monitor (Well, the TV-OUT to be more specific) to be DVD-MAX. Does anyone know if this setup is possible with the Parelia?

If you're that keen on a having a silent and powerful machine, there is but one answer: water. You probably know about this already, but if you're intending to build a new machine, go with water cooling from scratch. I've been running it in my PC for some time now (CPU only), and it will guarantee you lower temperatures than any fan cooler, and be almost completely silent. The Koolance cases (which have the water cooling built-in) support cooling of the HDD, video card, and system chipset.

              Mmmmmm, water cooled Parheliea..........

I'd stay away from Koolance and go with Dangerden.

Tho I will add none of my stuff came from them.

Anybody try it out in 3D Studio Max?

IIRC- the other cards never did perform very well there.

I have a question... was the alpha board with that fat-ass heatsink running at a 300mhz clock on the GPU? Was the chip scaled back to 220mhz so that the heat could accomodate the smaller heatsink/fan? (If that's the case, and the GPU can handle 300 mhz, I better make room to fit it )

I only have one question about this card:

Will it be able to support component output as TV-out?

I'd ask Haig about both component and video in.....

redmodel - No, TV-out is for DualHead only

isochar - you know we can't talk clock speeds

Damien - if you read my first post, you'll see we can't coment on possible future freatures. As Doc suggested, that's a question you could try asking Haig on Matrox's forums.

                              Windows ME/98/95

Any thoughts as to support for Windows ME(what i have) and earlier 98/95. I have not up-graded to XP, but will if i have to, - i would like to wait till the 256 version is out later this summer, (when, pant, pant,....).....but would rather not have to upgrade OS.

Is their a real reason that the other OS are not supported?...

                              what do you'all think??

I try to see it as a positiv thing... If they had offered Win98/Me/Linux drivers from the launch, it may had been delayed and/or they had spent less time on the Win2000/XP drivers..
