Just trying to temper the situtation. Personally I will never buy anything unless I have thoroughly researched it and read as many reviews as I can get my hands on. Just want to make sure people think before getting carried away and splashing out a lot of dosh. I personally would never preorder anything, if I am going to buy something I want to know it is available and I can get it when I want it, if not I'll look elsewhere if I can't wait. But if you really want to preorder that is your choice, just don't come around here snivelling like a baby when it gets delayed 6 months

I wasnt crying - oh. Ok, I did cry a bit, I mean, well.. WHEN it finaly arrived, the G400MAX was worth it.

Actually I could have bought my G400MAX card in a shop in my hometown two weeks after I had my preodered G400MAX delivered; and almost 100$ cheaper to boot!

But as said before, one can always cancel. If the Danish customs demand their 25% share on top of the 20% VAT already included in the price, Im afraid I will have to decline. The (price) point of pain is at hand - in fact, if I wasnt so damn glad i just passed my second last exam with flying colours, i prob. wouldnt have preodered. Now I have an excuse to celebrate...

That's one off the reasons why I haven't preorded a card yet, and I want to see some reviews first before making the decision.

Well, just short of the weed (I dont smoke anything, im scubadiving a lot - and getting old! I need all the air I can get) - Im pretty much up there with you.

I'm just happy to put a Matrox Card back into my Computer at home that is worth a damn in gaming and everything else that I want. I dont think I will be dissapointed . And no more video cards for at least 2 years..I Hope....gone through 3 since December 2000 when I retired the G400.

I don't think I'll be placing a pre-order. I currently have a P3-750 but no idea how CPU-dependent the Parhelia will be. Getting a new mobo/CPU is out of the question. I can get a 1.2GHz Tualatin from Powerleap but that's $150, plus $399 for the Parhelia is a bit too much. I would take Ant's advice and wait for some reviews first.

Not as much as what he can expose, but everyone is so strung up about how many FPS Quake3 can get when it really doesnt matter when it gets over 85 FPS. From what I gather Matrox is marketing the card as a Card that you can turn on all the eye candy and still play at a Good Frame rate, but not the Fastest Frame rate. Thats the Problem that M will be facing with the P.
