well, a review here at murc would probably benefit matrox more than a review at Hardocp, atleast i would expect murc to investigate BOTH parhelias weaknesses AND strenghts.
and yes i believe murc is the most famous matrox USERsite on the internet, perhaps famous enough to get linked from various well-known news-sites.
and murc does have 10000 members afterall.

I think their logic goes something like "It's a MATROX users site, they have decided they like Matrox cards - no need to preach to those already believing" - and they're right in that if P gets a good review here, people are not going to trust it (yes, WE know Ant is unbiased, but ex-nV lovers don't!), and Matrox surely can't quote a glowing review on their site and say it comes from Matroxusers.com It would sound like they gave themselves a good score (remember Man with no Head from the Ars forum).

They should give Ant a card for review (that he may keep!) though, just to give you credit for running this site (and out of your own pocket, I might add!)

I remember way back when I first got my G400MAX...
....needed a big CPU...rainbows when playing QuakeII...
no Turbo GL...slower than a regular TNT2...blah,blah,blah....

Time passed...CPU thing didn't seem to matter...QuakeII
looked better and played better...Turbo GL...regular ICD...
faster than a TNT2 Ultra.....
The image quality was there first, but then came the speed.
I think we should wait and see what happens when the drivers mature. The hardware is there..the software will come...

I seem to remember reading in several german computer magazines about the up comming Parhelia and they all got their info from the MURC.

The MURC provides free printed press for matrox, how much can that be worth?

Anyway, just to point out that there are good reviews and there are bad reviews..........

You have to have BOTH!

There must be an equality, if everyone said "this is a great card, go out and buy one now" i would have been very surprised....

HardOCP may be considered a shite site by some, but you can't flame him before he's even written a review!

Also, i seem to remember that Tom's had a hard time getting acknowledgement in the press industry, even though he had more viewers than some of the printed papers out there....

Reviews are just peoples opinions of things, the only person who makes the final judgement is YOU!
if you choose to believe without doubt what a site has written, thats your opinion.

Don't flame people for their opinions, thats all, free speech an all that.....

Ant would have done an honest review. This may not be quite in the same vein as emphasizing the strengths!

Broken record moment: Matrox SHOULD give Ant a Parhelia - BAH to Matrox.
