    Is it scam?

    That is the bulk version....seems realistic to me.

      I find that price believable. With such a high ticket item, there has to be some room for discounts. I can see the retail going for as low as $370.

      Too bad it doesn't decode DVD's in h/w, or I'd be on the gotta-have-it list, as well.

        I think that Parhelia does have some MPEG-2 acceleration features (though I'm not totally sure and after a 15-hours day, i'm too lazy to go check )
        What was necessary was done yesterday;
        We're currently working on the impossible;

          I don't think so. It was posted here that it only does motion control in h/w...unless your considering that as acceleration.

            The missing chip that was to sit above the GPU. Contained the hardware iDCT, VIP 2.0, and maybe some other stuff. I asked Haig if any future card will have it, and he said "that footprint will not be populated".
            I should have bought an ATI.

              I'm disappointed that Matrox markets, at a premium, a card for visual fidelity and yet does so little for DVD. My aging Desktop Theatre and I still get along just fine, but I miss my Hollywood decoder and had wished for an equivalent in the new Parhelia.

              You can put a tick for me into the "another missed market segment" column.

                I was wrong on what that missing chip included. The iDCT is built into the GPU. But future driver support for it is questionable.
                I should have bought an ATI.
