    Dave ... I was interested in useful or fun applications which exploit HW DAT and would entice users to purchase a P.

    Is DAT programming that much more work without DX9? I would have thought Matrox would have gotten some game developers to utilize DAT by now.

    What's XVox?

      A high quality method is trilinear filtering where you smoothly interpolate, per vertex, between the different mipmaps. The Xvox demo uses trilinear displacement map filtering. This is completely handled by the vertex shaders and thus there is no load on the CPU.
      it is done in the vertexshaders, maybe not the matrox way, but almost.

        I stand corrected. It does run on a G450 though.

        Is it using the "quad based" displacement mapping technique that John Carmack didn't like?
