    Hey Pace,

I think he got frustrated with the whole "PC" thing and went back to his Atari 2600.

i'm assuming you took a look at http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/009516.html

seems like it is indeed possible to get the VX2000 working with Parhelia.

Well I talked with Haig about this and even PM it to Lewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwis:

The VX-2k has been tested to work fine with the latest drivers upto 1600x1200

        I don't know why he's having problems

        Possibly wrong cables?

true dat...and that post from the Matrox forums also proves that it's possible to get them to work together.

Gah!! Can the solution be as simple as setting the monitor to "Plug and Play?"

            ????????

My bro is on vacation, we'll have to wait and see.

              I'm in Charlotte, NC

Hey everybody, I just read this MURC post and looked at:

I'm very upset to see that as far back as mid-September the VX-2000 and the Parhelia were not working well with each other.
Viewsonic recommended the Parhelia to me and Matrox assured me that their card would work fine with the VX-2000.
              So why can't I get 1600x1200 digital?

It is NOT my custom cables!!!

I substituted my cable with the one that came with the monitor and it did not work.
Viewsonic did a test at their place, with their cables, and it also did not work.

It is NOT my custom cables!!!

I've purchased three VX-2000's at $1500 each, a Parhelia for $400, a G-450 for $100 and three custom DVI-D Dual Link cables for $100. All I ask for is a three monitor 1600x1200 "DIGITAL" set-up.

For $5000, I should get what I ask for (especially when it's advertised to work)!
Three is better and BIGGER than one!

In bed as well (so I'm told).

                One- stop freaking out

Two- post your problem in that thread on Matrox's forums. Reason: the more complaints Matrox sees the faster this issue will be resolved.

                Three- stop freaking out

Four- if you had DVI-I cables made up for this instead of straight DVI-D you wouldn't have to buy yet another cable set.

                Five- stop freaking out

                Six- Heed my advice!!!

P.S. this is not Matrox, so post over there (how many times do I need to say this?!... and don't bite the hand that feeds you

Oh yeah one other thing... I would have suggested you to buy these DVI-I dual link 3m cables.

                              Greebe,

My reading of the thread at the official Matrox forum is that ck was able to get the whole thing working by designating the monitor as a plug and play device, rather than use the viewsonic's .inf.

A question that comes to my mind is whether plug and play info is tranmitted over the dvi, and, if it is, is it transmitted only through the DVI-I pins. That would require a new cable for sure.
