The bald guy in a designer chair was pretty damned lame, I agree.. but that wasn't the problem, it was a symptom of the problem. The problem is management that doesn't give a damn, or can't think straight, or both. The most important point in this thread is in VigilAnts original post here:
No more need be said. If this is true, it's just over. It's too bad. What I would like to know is what element of good sense did Matrox's management have back in 1995 that they do NOT have now? Anyone care to field that question in a straightforward manner?
Re-investment in RD is almost NIL.. if you look at anand's review of inside NVidia.. they day it was released on theweb.. matrox's asic, and HW eng teams unanimously agreed... company is finshed.. they need to invest close to 500million to have the same setup.. if they did invest in that equipment then. parhelia would have been released on time.. which was about 2 years ago.. it's not liek we didn't try.. we asked for and FIB machine repeatedly starting about 4 years ago...
