yep ditto good luck to those who did/do it and i hope your card last as long as you need it to. matrox would have fitted larger better copper heatsinks if they had made a difference, the one on there is nothing compared to a geforce or 9700 solution, p could not go faster, if it could it would be sold faster simple as that dont try to kid yourself otherwise. hope fully you have good samples which dont object to more voltage
is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?

All i can say is: go for it K-III! Whats with all the bad vibes here suddenly eh? I can certainly understand why someone wants to push the most out of his hardware. And IMO bragging is a legit reason too.

oh and someone said that it's not worth the hassle, but according to the 3DMark Scores (yeye i know) the 3dcenter guy got a 30% performance increase. not bad if you ask me!

BTW i was just thinking maybe that german 3DCenter guy is MAGGI in disguise, because he fears the wrath of his fellow MURCers

borat: i believe matrox could sell them faster, they just want to be double safe. it seems the P has some serious heat issues (and why they underclocked 3.3ns RAM to 275Mhz is beyond me) and they must make sure that it works in every case and there are some badly ventilated and dusty cases out there.
        no matrox, no matroxusers.

You want Arctic Silver epoxy I think.
Don't save that 2 bucks. Check out eBay I think it's about $10 ex shipping.

Other than that, AS website has many links to distributors.

Actually, if anyone knows of a thermal epoxy that isn't electrically conductive, that would be exactly what I'm looking for....

Attaching little copper heatsinks I'll be making myself from a sheet of copper to the IC's for cooling...

The hammering comes from the knowledge that he will kill the card. If he wishes to do this mod, thats up to him. I think its more to make sure no-one does this mod and comes crying later that their card is toast.

And it appears that it's not just the heat generated that's the problem (which has often been the issue in the past with overclocking), but the fact that the core simply cannot run with a higher voltage.

Anyone that attempts this kind of mod knows the risks,
this isn't an easy mod, granted the use of the pencil helps but in no way makes it easy...

Many here have shown off their mod'ed P which had/have large HS/F combos, Surely this is a mod that is dangerous, yet no warnings, and certainly not to this level...

The whole point is, this fluf in the thread deters people from reporting their experiences...
Making this forum an unfriendly forum for mod's of this type...

There isn't much going on with Matrox ATM... Why styfle interest with "Parental Warnings"...
How 'bout this, if someone kills their card and complains about it, enjoy laughing and saying "I told you so"....
