heh. hehe kinda off topic. but who cares

O yea. just a quick note that unlike the 5.88beta drivers, this version actually enables DX / OGL hardware acceleration. (for some reason the last beta didn't not enable any basic acceleration, probably because it's designed for G450MMS in mind.

As I compare the INF contents between 5.88.056.0 beta and 5.88.061.0, it seems there is still something different:

        1) Multiple language Help & UI contents.
        2) New resolution 1368x768 for all models?
        3) Some G400 models are not supported... ?
        4) New G450MMS model?

I just reverted back to the 5.86 W2K drivers (G450 DM 16MB), because of a strange phenomenon:

With the new driver 5.88061, the Windows start button looked as if it was being clicked on every 1 second. The menu does not pop up, it's just a graphical effect. But it is rather distracting to have the button twitching all the time.

I closed all traybar tools and other unnecessary programs to see if they caused this phenomenon, but it was always there, also after every reboot.

I reinstalled driver 5.86 and the problem was gone.

I have the same problem (altough with my G200), I was wondering what was causing this behaviour.
              Main: Dual Xeon LV2.4Ghz@3.1Ghz | 3X21" | NVidia 6800 | 2Gb DDR | SCSI
              Second: Dual PIII 1GHz | 21" Monitor | G200MMS + Quadro 2 Pro | 512MB ECC SDRAM | SCSI
              Third: Apple G4 450Mhz | 21" Monitor | Radeon 8500 | 1,5Gb SDRAM | SCSI

I also had problems with 5.88. Every time I used backspace while typing, the whole line of text was redrawn. The effect was like the text was blinking. Very annoying. Reverted to 5.86 and all is well. No biggie, 5.86 has been good to me.

                Edit: W2k SP3, G550 dualhead, Via chipset dual P3
